OMG this one pan dish is UNREAL! This philly cheesesteak skillet is delicious, nostalgic, and so easy to make with minimal cleanup! It’s also perfect to share for hosting or you can meal prep and save the rest for later!
SERVING SIZE: 4
THE RECIPE:
Set the oven to 450°F.
Prep your veggies! Dice your baby potatoes, thinly slice green pepper, and the yellow onion. Dice up the mushrooms.
Add olive oil to an oven-safe pan (I’m using a cast iron) over the stove on medium heat. Put your beef in the pan.
Season the shaved beef with paprika and steak seasoning of your choice (or just salt works!). I love Lawry’s, pepper, and garlic powder! Stir constantly for 5-7 minutes.
Remove the beef and set aside.
In the same pan, add your baby potatoes and 1 cup water. Cook the potatoes for 5-7 min, consistently stirring until the water is almost fully evaporated.
Then add your green peppers, mushrooms, yellow onions, and a little bit more of the seasonings previously used: paprika, lawrys, garlic powder, etc.
To deglaze the pan and continue to cook the veggies, add in ½ cup more water. Cook on low to medium heat for 12 minutes, stirring often.
Turn the stove off and put the beef back in the pan. Mix evenly.
Cover the beef and veggies with 3-5 slices of provolone, depending on how cheesy you want it. For an optional kick, finish with jalapeño slices.
Place the pan in the oven and bake for 3-5 minutes.
When you take the pan out of the oven, you’ll have a delicious one-pan philly cheesesteak skillet. Enjoy on your own with leftovers or share with friends and family!
